Compelling Storytelling

The Conscious Awakening Conference was a unique, 3-day immersive conference, unlike any you’ve ever experienced. The heart of it was 11 heart-centered Storytellers, who come from all over the U.S. to share their own stories candidly, about their struggles with mental health, and how they persevered using spirituality or sacred medicines. It is these powerful stories that we believe will create a shared context for others’ experiences – offering healing, a sense of hope, and belongingness. Don’t let the “spiritual vibe” scare you if you are an atheist or devoutly religious – there are seats at this table for everyone!

Having Fun While Healing

This remarkable conference experience grew out of Austin’s unique culture — one that celebrates music, gathering, and play! In addition to our Storytellers, this was a 3-day “conferency ceremony” filled with acoustic music, celebration, and joy!

  • Live music each day by Gregory Alexander!
  • Opening ceremony Friday (super special)
  • Guided meditation by Michael Evans & Adam Horowitz daily
  • Live ceremonial drumming by Shamanic Community of Austin
  • VIP Meditation Ceremony Saturday night (must be 18+)
  • Closing ceremony Sunday with Awakened Heart!

Reflective education and insight

Guests had an opportunity to ask the Storytellers questions after each of their shares. Additionally, there were several Integration sessions where we can broaden the conversation to the larger group, for the purpose of learning. The intention was to weave a stronger social net of clarity around mental health to destigmatize it and discuss what it means to be whole.

A SAFE CONTAINER

We believe that needing to feel safe, loved, and seen are basic human needs. To this end, we respect all “creation stories,” including omnism, monotheism, polytheism, animism, theosophism, atheism, and agnosticism. This isn’t about dividing – it’s about bringing together. Let’s establish ground rules so we can be heard and seen, without judgement. Let’s trust ourselves to know what’s true for us, without thinking we know what’s right for others. If we are going to learn together, we have to be able to talk openly about mental health and wellness across all lines that divide.

SATURDAY NIGHT VIP MEDITATION CEREMONY

We will be conducting a special ceremony Saturday night for VIP ticket holders only. It will include being guided in meditation by Michael Evans, while Jessica Falscroft leads us into our heart spaces through intuitive singing and sacred sounds. We will end with OHM chanting as a collective. This creates a safe container for heart-opened states, a very beautiful experience. Tickets to this VIP event are $35 and the event will be limited to 50 people. We look forward to seeing you in ceremony, y’all!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A VENDOR?

If you are a caring and passionate person who is conscientious about how you source/harvest, create, and promote your services or merchandise, we would love for you to be a vendor! Energy healers, creators of conscious products, artists, and mental health professionals/plant medicine carriers are welcome! If you already have posters and flyers to promote your business, even better! Each vendor will pay the conference fee + a $35 vendor fee. Tables with white linens provided. Please reach out to Sunshine for more info. We have a few tables left!

volunteer WITH US!

Thank you so much for your interest and support of this project! We love you already! Our volunteers get in free any day they serve, and should be able to be seated during most “in session” times. Food will not be provided. If interested, please reach out to Sunshine for a brief screening, then she will email you the registration coupon code. Volunteers should be able to:

  • commit to at least 1 whole day (but preferably 2, and ideally 3);
  • be 18+ years of age;
  • review the the EventBrite agenda for shift start times (F: 10AM, Sat & Sun 10:30AM), and be flexible with the shift end time (7:30PM), based on daily needs
  • assist with valet parking, guest arrival and check-in, space set-up/break-down, and general assistance
  • report to Derek Breathes, the Volunteer Coordinator, upon arrival
  • bring a packed lunch and/or be willing to coordinate food runs with fellow volunteers, as you may be needed during the meal breaks
  • to help be identifiable in the crowd, we ask that all volunteers wear a Betting On Love! ball cap while working
